Belonging Without Borders

This project began with the sleeping bag as more than just an object, it became a medium for exploring the concept of belonging. What started as a physical item evolved into a performance, asking where, and how, we truly feel at home.

Mini-slaapzak

One foot after another,
in search of being freed,
Walking away from what used to be home.

Wandering in a valley of rest and care.
Open fields painfully comfort what was longed for.
Slowly tearing down walls,
walls that used to protect.

Waking up when the sun comes up,
Going to sleep when the sun goes down.
Here I choose where I go,
Here I choose where I sleep.

Being without a home is what made me feel at home,
breaking down the walls that had kept me inside.
Turning inward is what paves the way,
boundless and free from things around.
